Privacy Policy

DriverHotspot SA is operated by Tmansolution in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what choices you have. We aim to handle your information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

• Account details — name, email address, phone number and (if you sign in with Google) the basic profile Google shares with us.
• Driver details — driver type, licence code, PDP status, vehicle make, type and capacity, operating areas, availability and the services you offer.
• Verification documents — ID, driving licence, PDP and vehicle registration uploads.
• Location — your device GPS position when you use the live map, request a route or trigger the panic/SOS feature.
• Activity — demand, traffic and safety reports, community posts, bookings and requests you submit.
• Technical data — device and browser information and basic logs needed to run and secure the app.

• To create and secure your account and show you the right features.
• To calculate demand, traffic, hotspot and opportunity scores.
• To match passengers, workers and employers with suitable drivers.
• To verify drivers before they appear in the public directory.
• To broadcast your panic/SOS alert to other users when you trigger it.
• To process booking payments and fees where these apply.
• To investigate abuse, fraud, false reports and safety incidents.

Location is only read when you use a location feature, and you can refuse or revoke the browser permission at any time. When you trigger the panic/SOS button you are deliberately sharing your name, phone number, vehicle details and exact coordinates with other signed-in users so they can help you. Cancel the alert with “I’m safe” to stop it being shown as active.

• Public — verified driver listings (name, city, vehicle, services, rating), and area demand information built from aggregated reports.
• Other signed-in users — community posts, driver reports and active SOS alerts.
• Private — your verification documents and unsubmitted draft profiles. These are stored in private storage and are visible only to you and to reviewers who need to check them.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the app on our behalf — hosting and database, mapping and routing, and payment processing — and with authorities where the law requires it or where it is needed to protect someone’s safety.

Account and driver profile data is kept while your account is active. Driver reports expire from the live map shortly after they are made and are kept only in aggregated form afterwards. We remove or anonymise data we no longer need, unless we must keep it for legal or safety reasons.

Access to your data is restricted by database-level access rules and documents are held in private storage. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us if you think your account has been compromised.

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, object to certain processing, or ask us to stop contacting you. You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Contact us through the app to make a request.

The app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
